Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting
Meeting prices vary depending on the format of the meeting:
Quiz: £2 members / £2 guests
Wine only: £3.50 members / £6.50 guests
Wine with nibbles: £5 members / £8 guests
Wine with food: £8 members / £11 guests
Christmas Party: for both members and guests: £7.50 with food contribution / £15 with no food contribution
Introductory meeting: Prospective new members are welcome to attend their first meeting at the member rate. If you decide to join the Wine Club after your first meeting, the member rate will continue to apply; if not, then the guest rate will apply for attendance at any further meetings.
The rates for membership and meeting prices are reviewed anually, proposed by the committee, and voted on by Wine Club members at the Annual General Meeting.
The membership cost and the higher meeting rate charged to guests aim to cover:
Hall hire costs
Insurance costs
Miscellaneous equipment and consumable costs
Welcome drinks provided by the Wine Club at some meetings
Special events (e.g. Christmas Party, anniversary celebrations) which may be run at a loss to the Wine Club
The member meeting rate aims to cover:
Costs of wine and nibbles/food (as applicable) for the meeting
There is usually a raffle arranged for meetings held at Hatfield Peverel Village Hall. Tickets for the raffle cost £1 per strip and can be bought for cash on the night. Proceeds from the raffle also help the Wine Club to cover costs, except for the Christmas Party raffle where proceeds are donated to a charity as voted for by members at the Annual General Meeting.

It is OK to pay by cash on the night but whether paying by bank transfer or cash on the night, you still need to let Vee know numbers attending for catering purposes (when applicable):
